I am an artist based in Winnipeg, Manitoba though I was born in Vancouver, British Columbia.
As a child I loved to draw. My parents couldn't afford art materials so I would draw on magazines, cardboard and scrap paper. One time in Grade 8 during an exam, students had to place their notebooks on a table at the back of the classroom. My science teacher actually tore up the cover of my notebook because I had drawn pictures all over the front and back ! I know, perhaps I should have kept it neat and tidy but I loved to doodle & draw.
After high school graduation I worked in the Jewelry industry and in my spare time and days off I did freelance artwork. I painted restaurant menu and bar signs, business names on storefront doors, wall and floor murals and Christmas scenes on windows for companies such as The Keg Restaurant, The Old Spaghetti Factory, Beaumont Framing & Gallery, hair salons and sports bars. I have painted murals for a daycare and private homes along with numerous volunteer art projects for schools and community events.
While working at the Crafters' Marketplace, I planned and implemented art and craft classes for children and painted murals in vacant rental space. While at home, I created a curriculum for basic drawing concepts and I taught private art classes to children 7-12 years old and drawing classes to adults.
As a City of Winnipeg Gardener, I applied skilled maintenance to flowers and shrubs, helped in the choice of plant material and sketched the design plans for the flower gardens in St. Vital Park. In the off season I worked for 'Creating a Scene Co." painting signs, lettering and life size character paintings.
I have had a lifetime of artistic endeavors so my art depicts all subject matter and I have become proficient in different media such as acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, graphite drawings, charcoal and pastel.
I am very prolific so I have an art studio full of, yes, Art. More than I can post on this site.
I would love to help you find what you need.
